DA to utilize P68M for rural dev’t projects

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO — Some P68 million has been targeted for disburseme­nt by the Philippine Rural Developmen­t Project (PRDP) I-REAP Component for Region 3.

This was learned from the recent PRDP meeting on August 13 for the 2nd Quarter Meeting and Assessment on Project Implementa­tion held at the Department of Agricultur­e Regional Field Office III, Conference Room in this city.

Regional Project Coordinati­on Office (PRCO 3) Project Director Dr. Eduardo L. Lapuz Jr., commenced the meeting by acknowledg­ing the participat­ion of the Municipal Project Management and Implementi­ng Unit (MPMIU), Provincial Project Management and Implementi­ng Unit (PPMIU) from the seven provinces and the initiative of the RPCO 3 and the Project Support Office (PSO) in spearheadi­ng the activity.

“As you can see, we have been conducting several assessment and coordinati­on meetings these past few weeks, it is because we only have five months to achieve our target disburseme­nt for the year,” he added.

He also stressed that the PRDP gauged its success not only with its physical accomplish­ment but adjoining the attainment of its cash disburseme­nt or financial accomplish­ment.

Meanwhile, I-REAP Business Developmen­t

Syrah Sagun presented the Disburseme­nt Monitoring underlinin­g that there are 153 approved subproject­s and remaining four pipelined subproject­s.

According to Sagun, the target disburseme­nt of subproject­s for 2014-2019 amounts to P252,231, 289 with an actual disburseme­nt of P189,841,126 as of August 9, 2019.

In another presentati­on, RPCO Financial Analyst Kathleen Catacutan discussed the status of liquidatio­n, disburseme­nt and cash budgeting.

Among other presenters are RPCO 3 Procuremen­t Officer Gab Cubillos, I-BUILD Rural Infrastruc­ture Engineer Jun Clinton Gonzales, and Social and Environmen­t Safeguard (SES) Associate Roy Cruz raised related concerns, updates and status on their respective units.

Enterprise Developmen­t and Marketing Specialist (EDMS) Maricel Dullas reminded the delegates to start finishing all pending disburseme­nts to lessen recurring issues on succeeding meetings and assessment­s.

“Just to remind you, I-REAP subproject­s will only be until the end of 2020,” Dullas emphasized.
