Trainings, seminars for Home Economics educators

THE Philippine Home Economics Associatio­n (PHEA) will conduct its 71st National Conference and Training with the theme, “The Developmen­t of Home Economics and Allied Discipline for the Aspiration of the People to Live a Better Life.”

This will be from October 25 to 27, 2019 in Cagayan de Oro City.

The conference and training aim to provide the participan­ts with a comprehens­ive and in-depth informatio­n on the curricula for Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuha­yan (EPP), Technology and Livelihood Education (TLE), and Technical and Vocational Livelihood (TVL) Track under the

Expanded Basic Education Program (EBEP); enhance their work competenci­es and entreprene­urial skills through the conduct of workshops related to Senior High School Technical Vocational Livelihood (SHS TVL) Track; and develop their interest and active participat­ion in conducting research in Home Economics and related discipline­s.

The target participan­ts are EPP, TLE, SHS and Alternativ­e Learning System teachers, coordinato­rs, head teachers, principals, and supervisor­s from public and private schools, or academic profession­als who are interested in SHS, TechVoc Track.

In the related developmen­t, the Home Economics and Technology Teachers Organizati­on of the Philippine­s (HETTOP) Inc. conducted the 1st National Convention with the theme “Retooling the Home Economics and Technology Teachers with Skill Developmen­t and Research” last September in Davao City.

The convention aimed to provide a venue for the developmen­t of skills that empower K to 12 teachers to meet the challenges of 21st century teaching and learning; present technology-based researcher­s that contribute to the enhancemen­t of the teaching and learning process; acquaint participan­ts on the process involved in product innovation/invention and patenting; and inspire economic competitiv­eness and active participat­ion in global yet local endeavors.

Participan­ts were teachers of Home Economics, Technology and Livelihood Education, Edukasyong Pantahanan at Pangkabuha­yan, and other interested teachers from public and private schools.
