A TEACHER- A CANDLE

“A good teacher is like a candle, it consumes itself to light the way for others”. A teacher is someone who provides knowledge to the students. They teach different subjects that are relevant to the course chosen by the students. They also teach good manners to the students for them to grow up kind. If there’s no teachers, there’s no doctors, lawyers, nurses, engineers, accountant, architects, and other professionals.

Being a teacher is not easy. You have to sacrifice a lot of things- even the time for your family for the sake of the school and most especially for the students. Some teachers still choose to attend their class even if they are not feeling well. Many times, they cannot finish all the paper works in school so they need to take them home and continue working on them. The time that is supposedly for the family will instead be used to finish the paper works.

A mother will do everything for her child. As well as a teacher will do everything for her students. Just like the quotation mentioned above, the teachers are willing to give and sacrifice themselves just to teach the students. Despite of being tired, they still won’t let the students feel and see it. Even if they are not feeling well, they make sure to give their 100% and be energetic all the time while they are standing and teaching in front of the students.

Teaching is not a job. It’s a profession. There’s a lot of works here but the salary is just small. But for me among all professions, teaching is the best. Yes you cannot get a lot of money here, but you can get priceless things in teaching. The love of the students for their teacher is priceless. The trust when they share their problems to their teacher is priceless. The “thank you” and the smile that they give especially when you know that they understand the lessons very well is priceless.

Yes, there’s a lot of sacrifices they need to give for the students and it may consume their energy to educate other people, but they can be molded again and bring back their strength and energy through the love and appreciation from the students.
