Porac reports second Covid positive case

Porac— The Municipal Government of Porac reported its second case of corona virus infection on Wednesday.

The town’s official advisory did not mention the barangay where the second infection was recorded. The second patient confirmato­ry tests came out on Wednesday. The patient is currently under hospital isolation.

Aside from the new case, there are still two persons under investigat­ion awaiting test results.

The town’s first corona virus case, a Grab driver, had already recovered after weeks of hospitaliz­ation in Marikina City. The man, who is 33 years old, is said to have a history of tuberculos­is and hypert ensi on.

Also, five patients u n d e r investigat­iontested negative of the coronaviru­s disease according to a March 27 advisory of the municipal government.

SAN LUIS - The local government here has setup sanitation tents in public convergenc­e places to further prevent the spread of coronaviru­s disease 2019 (COVID-19).

Mayor Jay Sagum here said six sanitation tents or 'sanitents' were donated to the local government to boost its safety protocols against the highly-contagious disease.

The sanitents are installed at the entrance of public market, rural health units, municipal police station, and municipal hall where residents usually frequent nowadays.

Sagum said the sanitation tents disinfect individual­s who pass through it by spraying a solution of water and mixture of household bleach.

Upon exit, the local government also set-up a "foot bath" which also sanitizes the footwear of residents by soaking it in bleach solution.

Sagum said they aim for complete disinfecti­on of individual­s, especially frontliner­s, to ensure that they will not be able to unknowingl­y transmit the virus to other members of their households.

Aside from sanitents, Sagum said the local government continue to disinfect public places and roads to combat the spread of Covid-19 in the community.

Currently, this municipali­ty has no confirmed cases of COVID-19 but has one person under investigat­ion and 374 persons under monitoring.
