The Effect of Home Visitation on Students’ Performance

One of the challenging role of the teacher is when they encounter students who are always absent. It is really a problem on the part of the teacher especially if the students do come once a week, twice a month or worst only during the quarterly exam.

There are so many reasons why students couldn’t attend their classes like they don’t have enough fare allowance, illness, need to support the family but what if the reason is they are not just interested to learn? The role of the teacher is to do something that could motivate the student/s to go back to school.

Thus, how could be the performance of the learners be measured, if the learner is not consistent in attending his classes? Definitely the teacher would do something to inform the parents of the child. Inform them by sending the message through texting, call them if there are no responses despite the eagerness of the teacher to send the information, the last option of the teacher is to visit the child at home.

Such an heroic deed, for teachers are not given allowance if they do home visitation, they are not also protected, the mere fact that they go to a place they are not familiar with, but with courage and the determination just for the sake of motivating the students to attend their classes, teachers would do everything even if it will cause their life, for they believe by doing home visitation they could help the students realize the importance of attending classes regularly, indeed the teacher is so optimistic that the learner/s could be promoted to the next level of learning.
