A Teacher - Coach Journey

Mark Ian R. Reyes

-

A good coach can change a game. A great coach can change a life and makes his players see that they can be greater than what they are. You must be personally reliable so you can coach your team to generate desirable results.

It is always said that teaching is the noblest profession. Being a teacher-coach is a fulfilling duty of a PE teacher. It’s a rewarding feeling knowing that you’ve been a part of someone’s journey to his dream. Helping students gain valuable knowledge and develop psychomotor skills, are my gifts to them.

From a simple dream of becoming an educator… I became… a life changer… a dream maker. I have been helping my students/athletes to feel good about themselves and create a better quality of life for themselves through coaching. Using my God-given talents and skills makes me feel confident about my abilities to contribute good things to them.

The opportunity to teach them the knowledge and the skills they needed to achieve their goals to become a champion, touching their hearts and their lives are things that I am truly grateful for. As I go along in the field or the track that I chose, I can testify how wonderful it is to be a teacher-coach. I may not be the greatest among them all, but to attest how I changed and developed mind, body and soul of students, that is enough for me to be considered as one of those noblest. Tiring days and restless nights might affect our health and relationship among our peers as well as with our families, but those will be understood and forgiven, for I know that one day all efforts and sacrifices will be paid off.
