Blended learning is also known as hybrid learning wherein the learning is integrated with technology and the use of media with traditional instructions. Because of COVID – 19, parents fear to send their children to school that is why modular and blended learning is the best way to educate the learners in times of pandemic.
In September 6, 2016, Jennifer Patterson posted an article regarding important benefits of blended learning some of its importance are as follow; (a) Flexibility A blended learning approach provides ultimate flexibility in presenting content. Complex topics can be presented in the classroom, while other subject matter can be available online. With an online component, you’ll also increase flexibility and convenience over how and when your employees participate in training. And (b) Effectiveness, according to
Garrison and Kanuka they have studied blended learning and based on their research concludes that “blended learning … has the proven potential to enhance both the effectiveness and efficiency of meaningful learning experiences.”
According to Sarah Bright there is an increase of student engagement thru online learning also the use of this blended learning tactic effectively, require students to complete assignments, presentations, or tests before moving on to the remaining portion of the course. Lastly, online assignments, course commenting and discussion boards naturally encourage student collaboration. In a blended learning classroom, you have the best of both worlds, with both online and offline teamwork opportunities.
Based from Education Weeks Blog written by Matthew Lynch, blended learning presents an increased opportunity for students to connect with their teachers. They can connect via email, through progress reports on the program, or on message boards. This learning style promotes a number of effective means for teachers and students to become more engaged with one another. In the end, both parties can benefit from this shift in the relationship. Teachers can stay in touch with student progress, while students can ask more questions and gain deeper knowledge.
