Webinar as an Excellent Tool for Teachers in the New Now
Kimberly S. Malang
In this current situation, everyone has to embrace a new normal setup where in practicing social distancing, wearing a face mask, washing hands frequently and many more behavioral changes take place. Since most people are all for staying at home for their safety, teachers particularly cannot stop themselves from learning. Advancement and improvement cannot only be gained outside the boundaries of their safe home.
Teachers cannot just afford to remain dormant or inactive. They should seek and explore new learnings in the digital world. Webinars are everywhere to replace faceto-face meetings since the new normal set-up is embraced. That is why, the increase use in webinars does not come as a surprise. Take a look on the meaning of a webinar found on Oxford Learner’s Dictionaries: webinar means a presentation or seminar that is conducted over the Internet. So, these are seen over the net, in one click, attendees have to conveniently view sessions from their gadgets and listen to the audio. Vibal Group, Abiva Publishing House, Inc., DepEd EdTech Unit, Google Philippines are just few webinar platforms to choose from which offer online seminars to provide learnings for the teachers.
Teachers find attending the webinar sessions advantageous. Aside from professional advancement, there are no travel costs involved and certificates are also earned after the session. Webinars can play a great role in online learning or distance learning where there is physical separation between and among the teachers and the learners. It is best for them to attend more webinars so that they can impart more to their students.
