Unsung Heroes

The Covid-19 pandemic has certainly make it marks in our history as a nation. It made many people suffer not only because of the disease in itself but also because of the shutdown of the economy. These, resulting to the lost not only of jobs but more importantly of lives of many individuals. However, despite of overwhelming trials this pandemic had caused, people have shown remarkable resolve to help those who are in dire need of assistance. These are the modern day heroes that unselfishly thrown themselves in the frontlines to combat an unknown and invisible nemesis. The unsung heroes that have shown astounding courage regardless of their own vulnerability and exposure to the virus these are the people that inspite of understanding the risks have still opted to perform their duties just to make us safe, healthy and comfortable within our own abode. As a gesture of concern, both local and national government have devised measures that protect and reward the exceptional efforts exerted by the front liners. Medical insurances, hazard pay and increase compensation to name a few especially to those who work for the government and selected companies in the private sector. Unfortunately, no matter how big the salary given to them, there is no amount of compensation would suffice to pay a life that has been given life that is sacrificed in a noble and great way.
Considering all their hardships, the things mentioned are only a sugar coat of what really they are experiencing. In reality, these people are being discriminated and judged by ignorant eyes. They are being avoided in fear of being infected by exactly the same disease that they are fighting. Sad but true, that the people keeping us safe and comfortable are being treated differently by those who are supposed to be supporting them. Let us make them feel that we are here for them because they have always been there for us flaunting their unwavering commitment and love to their sworn.
