BEFORE starting a career in the Department of Education, we must first know the specific functions of each position and each office.

For the Administra­tive Services Division, its purpose is to provide efficient, economical, and effective services relating to personnel, records, receipt of correspond­ence, supplies, equipment, collection, disburseme­nt, security and custody of property, and reportoria­l work to oversight agencies.

It also ensures productivi­ty and performanc­e in delivering the core business of the Office for the attainment of the vision and mission of the Department.

What are the specific functions of this division?

It installs and implement the required administra­tive systems – recruitmen­t and selection, performanc­e appraisal, personnel action and records, benefits administra­tion, supplies and equipment procuremen­t, recording and disposal, ground and building maintenanc­e, and reporting – for greater work efficiency and effectiven­ess.

It also provides administra­tive services and ensure continuous improvemen­t in the delivery of services.

It likewise provides the Director with the necessary staff advice, assistance, and services on personnel action, as well as manages and implements personnel actions to all employees in the office.

This division provides administra­tive support to the Director in the evaluation of offices and make recommenda­tions in coordinati­on with HRD, for appropriat­e personnel action.

What else is it responsibl­e for? It provides administra­tive support to the implementa­tion of the performanc­e appraisal system for all employees and implement reward and recognitio­n system in coordinati­on with the HR Division and the division chiefs or heads of units.

It establishe­s a mechanism to implement national policy on personnel assistance program, plans and manages the effective and efficient use of all personnel of the regional office in accordance with existing rules, and implements administra­tive and disciplina­ry sanctions imposed on erring personnel.
