Duties and Responsibilities of Master Teacher

According to an article “Master Teacher Definition and Examples” in study.com, a master teacher is one who has mastered the basics of teaching, one who goes above and beyond to ensure a positive learning experience for each student, and one who shares his or her knowledge with the broader learning community.

A master teacher is not an easy job, because you need to become a master in teaching that goes beyond the learning process of the learners.

They should focus on student learning that may lead to deep understanding of how students learn and develop, and they strive to create positive learning environments for all students, regardless of current skills or ability levels.

Master teacher is also a research-based teaching method with the number two duties and responsilbilities, “Conducts in-depth studies or action researches on teaching-learning innovations” by understanding and using the most current and effective teaching strategies, master teachers meet their students' needs.

Not only knowing what his/her subject but rather being an expert in their practice as mention in the first duties and responsibilities “Models exemplary practice in the application of content knowledge and pedagogy showing its integration within and across learning areas.”

The existing qualification of Department of Education with only 18 units for Master’s Degree in Education for Master Teacher I position should continue to participate in professional development. Not only earning units instead finishing the degree.

Master teachers are leaders in the educational community that leads colleagues in the design, evaluation, interpretation and utilization of different types of assessment tools for the improvement of the teaching and learning process (Number 7 Duties and Responsibilities).

Being a master teacher is not easy but if you are capable and mastered the basic skills you are certified qualified as such.
