CSF assists first batch of dialysis patients
CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The city government of San Fernando recently enrolled the first batch of kidney disorder patients in its free hemodialysis program, a priority project of Mayor Vilma Caluag.
During the first day on August 18, the local government accommodated patients from barangays Juliana, San Jose, and Sta. Teresita – all covered by Rural Health Unit 1.
The beneficaries were enlisted based on a master list prepared by
barangay health workers.
Dr. Rowena Salas, city health officer, said each patient underwent a three-part enrollment process: registration of its personal information, health assessment, and registration for the “KAYABE KArd” program.
Aside from the free hemodialysis treatments, the beneficiaries will also be part under the “individuals with chronic diseases” categor y.
"After the enrollment, our patients will just have to wait for the hemodialysis treatment. The hemodialysis center is currently beiing set up and we are now working on the necessary permit for its operation," Salas sai d .
The facility is being constructed inside the City Civic Center in San Isidro which also houses several government buildings delivering different services.
The succeeding enrollment dates are targeted to be held every Thursday.
Patients from other barangays, who were included in the RHUs’ master lists, are advised to wait for the announcement of their respective schedules.
Walk-in enrollees will be accommodated, provided that their application will be coordinated to their RHUs prior to the enrollment day.
