4 nabbed for murder of fish pond owner
BULACAN --- The Bulacan Police Provincial Office disclosed Monday the arrest of four individuals involved in the murder of a businessman Ryan Beltran, 39, who owns a small fishpond pond owner of Barangay Maligaya, San Miguel, Bulacan.
Colonel Charlie Cabradilla, acting director of the Bulacan provincial police, identified the arrested suspects as Maricel Beltran, the victim's wife, as the mastermind; Benjie Garcia, the hired gunman; and cohorts Romie De Guzman; and Anthony Velasquez, the victim's foster son.
At 11 pm on August 27, 2022, the victim's wife reported to police that she heard a gunshot while she was inside the restroom of their rest house in Barangay Maligaya.
Maricel said she quickly returned to their bedroom and found her husband's body covered with blood.
Beltran was rushed to a hospital in Gapan, Nueva
Ecija, where he was declared dead by a physician.
On August 28, 2022, the said suspects were arrested in different joint follow-up operations by the operatives of the San Miguel and San Ildefonso police stations together with the Bulacan Provincial Intelligence Unit (PIU).
Maricel, the victim’s wife together with the victim’s foster-son Anthony was arrested through the execution of extra-judicial confession and evidences found on text messages through their cellphones.
Garcia was caught in Barangay Pulong Bayabas, San Miguel, Bulacan, where a caliber .45 and a hand grenade were seized by the police.
De Guzman, on the other hand, was arrested in Barangay Kalawakan, Dona Remedios Trinidad, Bulacan, where a Cal. 38 pistol was seized.
The four suspects were charged with murder by the provincial police.
