Bulacan gov cites balance of environment, progress
CITY OF MALOLOS -- Bulacan governor Daniel Fernando has underscored the balance between environmental protection and industrialization.
Fernando stressed this when he, and other officials of the province met with San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President Ramon Ang recently.
The governor said the provincial government and the SMC, which is undertaking the development of the New Manila International Airport in Bulakan, Bulacan, have agreed to harmonize development projects in the province.
To discuss the ongoing and future development projects in the province, Governor Daniel R. Fernando met with San Miguel Corporation (SMC) President and Chief Executive Officer Ramon S. Ang (RSA) last Monday.
Aside from the airport, Fernando and Ang also discussed the proposed Bulacan Mega City in the municipalities of Balagtas, Bocaue, and Pandi which was presented by Pandi Mayor Enrico Roque.
According to the governor, it is necessary that developments in the province with each other.
Ang informed Fernando about the two of several proposed access roads leading to the Bulacan airport including Marilao Interchange and Tabang Interchange in Guiguinto.
As part of its corporate social responsibility, Ang said SMC is currently conducting massive dredging projects on the four major river systems in the province.
The SMC top executive also committed to continuously help in the dredging of the other rivers in the province in response to the request of the governor.
The corporation is currently engaged in eight dredging projects in Bulacan.
Ang also disclosed that the 300-hectare Bulakan Mangrove Ecopark was preserved amidst the construction of the Bulacan airport.
“Ngayon pong panahon ng tag-ulan, magandang balita po para sa mga Bulakenyo na marinig natin mula mismo kay Sir Ramon Ang, na katuwang natin sila sa paggawa ng hakbang upang maprotektahan ang ating kalikasan. Patunay po nito na kayang pagsabayin ang pag-unlad at pagpreserba ng ating mga likas na yaman,” the governor said.
Fernando also thanked Ang for extending financial aid for the updating of the Provincial Development and Physical Framework Plan of Bulacan.
