HOW HAS EDUCATIONAL TECHNOLOGY CHANGED OVER THE YEARS

Change is definitely inevitable. In the recent years the world has changed drastically. Technology is overcoming the world and people were influenced by using such. People called “Digital Natives” shows how different the world we lived in before and the world we live in now. Education has become more advanced and used a lot of technologies to provide instruction. A lot of teachers are not used in using technology in teaching, but as time passes by, education is getting more advanced than before. That is why teachers must adopt to these changes for the 21st century learners. The students are changing and the way they learn changes too. Though it is hard to adopt to these new changes, teachers should always be flexible and innovative to cater the students’ varying needs. Learning is a cycle and is continuous, thus positivity is the key to easily adopt to these changes that technology brings. Teacher’s effort should always be acknowledged because of the hard work and passion they give to provide quality learning for students. Most of the teachers are used to traditional type of learning and with this advanced technology that arises, they are having the difficulty to adopt to technology-based learning.
All is easily accessible now. Before, learning is teacher-centered, now it is solely student-centered where teachers are the facilitators of learning. This is indeed a challenge for teachers, and this case study is a big help to help teachers cope up easily and have a positive outlook towards this change. This study might be a basis what each teacher should do in order to adopt to these changes. A lot of teachers lacks technological knowledge and this is a hindrance on how to teach students in this era where student’s attention span is really short. Students now do not want to sit only but rather they learn best when they are the one doing and discovering the learning. They get easily bored when the teacher solely do the discussion. This study is a great avenue to address the difficulty of the teachers in coping up to technology integrated instruction.
Teachers are flexible and they can do everything to provide the best quality instruction for the students. This study provides awareness and information to further embrace the technology to enhance learning environment. Acceptance and positive outlook should always be the mindset of every teacher to achieve the change they want to be.
