SCHOOL – COMMUNITY – NETWORKING AND LINKAGES-

-

CHONA R.PAMINTUAN

Through the course of School Community Networking and Linkages, our class of EDMA 604 created and planned a Project entitled project “GABAI).

The assessment was conducted and very important for it guided us to what kind of training needs we can share to the teachers of Laoang Elementary School. Through the assessment our group will provide a Teachers training for modern and 21st Century Teaching Strategies based on the different information during the pre-assessment where we had interviewed some of the teachers.

Our group done the interview with a guide question that determined what the teachers needed to improve for the academic performance of their learners. To solve a problem effectively, Assessment will be the first step to follow and in that, our group is confident that we can give the best for the teacher’s needs.

As a teacher in such manner, the assessment was so much easier than we are ever though. The teachers were very cooperative and accommodating, and as I was though I will be extending my service to them but the other point I have realized is not about my service but their service to give for their learners, so they can have more enough to share. I don’t see a teacher then; it was a “HERO” that I was talking to.

During the day of our Extension Service “PROJECT GABAI” as expected that the events and activities will simultaneously happen. We are very committed to the program that every student of EDMA 604 really did their very best in serving the community of Barangay Laoang. But what made it interesting during the program was the involvement of each participants who managed to attend and gave their time.

“The measure of a man’s greatness is not the number of servants he has, but the number of people he serves”. -John Hagee -We human mostly focus on our own good but and it’s okay, especially if we share this common good to other. The feeling of being busy for the community at that moment is what made it worth serving, because it is not how simple and light you share but the contribution that you know will change the things and the way of people in Barangay Laoang goes to it.

I commend and salute to the teachers, parents, Brgy.Officials and pupils for their time and effort in participating this such event. Especially, to all the guest speakers, Doctors and other private individual who inspire this community to work together and to contribute their best for the good development of the future generation.

In this, my contribution as one of the class of EDMA 604 of School Community Networking and Linkages is like a tiny dust, small and little, but important to build a one whole community ways of life to a better one.

“Everyone has a purpose in life and a unique talent to give to others. And when we blend this unique talent with service to others, we experience the ecstasy and exultation of own spirit, which is the ultimate goal of all goals.” – Kallam Anji Reddy –

I wanted to flex this quote of Kallam Anji Reddy about the unique talent and purpose of life, because not everyone is ready to give even those rich and can provide people, but to someone who believed the purpose of sharing and whose happiness is to provide what others needs is the goal itself.

The Extension Service happened so fast, at first I wanted to do it for the sake of requirements, but when I got a chance to interview some of the teachers which I felt I am in their position, I felt how important to be heard and relayed some of the problems. At the back of my mind during the assessment, I was saying I wanted to be heard as well and so others could help. Right at that moment I pledge to do all my best to input as much I can to help the teachers of Laoag Elementary School.

Again, if I will have a chance to do more of extension service I won’t hesitate, as long I can and be able to do good for others with or without a proposal and program. This service extended to one whole community and extended in my human capacity to really give and share whatever it may be that I can. And by doing so in the future, I want to be guided with this verses of giving “do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing”

Such a Blessed and blissful program indeed.
