Perspective! BACKBONE OF THE EDUCATIONAL SYSTEM

-

BELEN T. MENDOZA

Teachers are the backbone of the educational system, whether they are educating young children in reading, writing, and math or preparing high school students for further education. They put forth a lot of effort to make sure that their pupils obtain a top-notch education that equips them for the difficulties that lie ahead. Teachers are mentors and serve as role models for their students in addition to being instructors. They offer direction and assistance, assisting pupils in navigating the challenges of maturation and locating their position in the world. In order to offer their students additional assistance, motivation, and inspiration, teachers frequently go above and beyond the scope of their official work duties. They seek to foster a climate that is welcoming and encouraging and in which kids feel safe, appreciated, and supported. Extracurricular activities, organizations, and events that foster social relationships and aid students in acquiring critical life skills are frequently organized by teachers. Nonetheless, teaching has its share of difficulties. Teachers frequently deal with heavy workloads, meager pay, and scarce resources. They must manage diverse classes with children who have a range of abilities and needs while navigating ever-changing educational rules and curricular standards. To sum it up, teacher leadership is a crucial concept that can significantly improve education. Giving teachers the freedom to take on leadership roles can help schools promote a more collaborative culture, improve student success, and create a more sustainable educational system. Although implementing teacher leadership may be challenging, the benefits are clear, and districts and schools should consider this tactic as they try to improve education.
