JUSTIFICATIONS BEHIND THE VITALITY OF LEARNERS’ PERFORMANCE BETWEEN PRE-INTERVENTION AND POST-INTERVENTION OF UTILIZATION OF LEARNING MATERIALS JOSEPHINE B. MEDINA
In every instructional delivery and teaching-learning process, the need to implement learning assessment is highly indispensable. This is through learning assessment that learners’ performance can be concretely evaluated and monitored by the teachers. Thus, it only implies that the effectiveness of utilizing varied interventions in improving the literacy skills of the learners can be attributed to various factors and support systems. These support systems include the creativity and innovativeness of the teachers in aligning the use of these learning materials to the demands of instruction and the learning needs of the learners. The teachers ensure that the instructional materials are not merely used typically and conventionally but are incorporated in the teaching-learning process in a way that captivates the learning enthusiasm and attention of the earners. Moreover, the teachers also ensure that the activities, games, exercises and tasks that support the use of innovative tools are also highly aligned with the curriculum-prescribed content knowledge and competencies, hence, making it more effective and responsive to learners’ needs in literacy skills. Therefore, it also implies that the difference between the results of the pre-intervention and the post-intervention period can be justified by the diversity in the level of exposure and access of the learners to opportunities to learn literacy skills with the aid of innovative tools. It can be clear and evident that there are still no innovative interventions received by the learners in learning basic skills during the pre-intervention stage, hence, it explains the lower level of prior knowledge in a subject matter. Meanwhile, in the intervention period, the learners are given equal opportunities to access the beneficial services offered by the creative and innovative utilization of learning materials.
