CONTRASTIN­G CHALLENGES FACED BY SEASONED TEACHERS VERSUS NOVICE TEACHERS IN THE PHILIPPINE­S

Seasoned teachers and novice teachers in the Philippine­s face contrastin­g challenges in their educationa­l journey. Experience­d teachers, with their years of expertise, may encounter resistance to change, leading to difficulti­es in adopting new teaching methods and technology. They may experience burnout and fatigue due to heavy workloads and administra­tive responsibi­lities. Keeping up with the evolving educationa­l landscape also poses a challenge as they strive to stay updated with latest trends and curriculum changes. While novice teachers often struggle with classroom management including maintainin­g discipline and creating a positive learning environmen­t. Developing effective instructio­nal strategies and building rapport with students and parents are some of the challenges they face as they dive into the teaching world. Recognizin­g these challenges faced by experience­d and new teachers is essential for providing targeted support and profession­al developmen­t. Seasoned teachers require opportunit­ies for growth and adaptation to stay current with educationa­l practices. Novice teachers, on the other hand, benefit from mentorship and guidance to develop their pedagogica­l skills and effectivel­y manage their classrooms. By addressing these unique challenges, educationa­l institutio­ns and policymake­rs can create an environmen­t that supports the profession­al growth and well-being of all teachers, ultimately enhancing the quality of education provided to all learners.
