In today's digital age, social media has become an integral part of our lives, including the educational landscape. Its influence on learners, both positive and negative, cannot be ignored. One of the significant advantages of social media for learners is its ability to provide easy access to a wealth of information. It can also to lead them to explore diverse subjects, engage with experts, and discover new learning opportunities beyond traditional classroom settings. Moreover, Social media platforms have revolutionized how learners connect and collaborate with their peers and educators. Online study groups, forums, and educational communities enable learners to engage in discussions, share resources, and seek help from a global network of individuals who share similar interests. Collaborative learning becomes more accessible, fostering teamwork, knowledge exchange, and the development of valuable relationships. Learners may interact with people from all backgrounds, developing cultural awareness, empathy, and a better perspective of the world. Social media platforms may serve as catalysts for dialogues about social justice, environmental sustainability, and other critical issues, kindling learners' desire for change. To overcome these challenges, learners should practice responsible social media use, develop critical evaluation skills to identify reliable sources, and establish healthy boundaries. Educators and parents can play a crucial role by promoting digital literacy, fostering open dialogues about online safety and mental well-being, and incorporating social media as a complementary tool within the learning environment.
