Sto. Tomas: the next Singapore of Pampanga

MAYOR John Sambo has big plans for the tiny but definitely rising town of Sto. Tomas, Pampanga located at the southern boundary of the City of San Fernando and, it aims to become the next important part of the province in the next few years

Already in place are the extension of the medical facilities of JBL Medical Merorial General Hospital, the Don Honorio Ventura State University and some national agencies such as the National Bureau of Investigation.

Mayor Sambo has donated some l;and (and buildings). to accommodate the much-needed facilities for his constituents.

In our talk last DEcember 7, 2023, Mayor Sambo bared his plans and projects to make this diminutive town into a very prosperous area like Singapore.

As mentioned, he made sure that his constituents enjoy the best medical facilities (free of charge) without going somewhere else. SEveral dialysis machines have been acquired to service cancer patients

And for students/ he invited DHVSU to locate in his town of just seven barangays in order to provide his townmates the best education/instruction.

On top of his grandiose plans and projects is the flood mitigation project to save Sto. Tomas from rushing waters coming as far as Mabalacat City and Angeles City and other areas. making his town as a virtual catch basin for rainwater.

He laments that the Philippine National Railways did not consider putting up .a station in Sto. Tomas like Apalit and the City of San Fernando.

Sto. Tomas' main industries consist of casket making, pottery, garments, utility vehicle assembly and poultry.

While it has only seven (7) barangays it has consistently generated significant income from the aforementioned industries.

Mayor Sambo envisions.Ato. Tomas to become the next Singapore of the province of Pampanga: keeping it drug free, peace and order top form and a grateful constituency.
