NO MAN IS AN ISLAND
JESAMINE G. ULLEGUE
Problems are an inherent aspect of being human. They add meaning and excitement to life. They are designed to test our critical thinking skills and display our special strengths and aptitudes for problemsolving. We are designed to become creative, imaginative, critical, solid, and disciplined due to problems. Students will unavoidably encounter challenges throughout their lives, not just at school. A guidance counselor is quite important in addressing these difficulties. In that situation, a counselor must be discerning and effective while offering advice to pupils. If not, something worse might occur. Therefore, a guidance counselor's job is to inspire individuals going through difficult times or enlighten those blinded by their various troubles. A guidance counselor must be zealous and committed to studying every aspect of human problems or difficulties to be a source of inspiration or enlightenment. Not only must s/ he be an effective communicator and advisor, but s/he must also listen well. Additionally, a guidance counselor must make sure that every one of his or her clients feels significant, welcomed, and comfortable at all times. Additionally, a guidance counselor must listen carefully to the client and, if necessary, assist the client in making decisions. In every counseling session, a guidance counselor must demonstrate empathy, a crucial counseling component. Just as a patient needs a doctor to treat their condition, a student needs a teacher to show them the way, and a disturbed person needs a counselor to address their problems and to seek advice on how to handle their problem, whether it be easy or difficult.
