SCHOOL MANAGEMENT: ITS VITAL ROLE AND FUNCTIONS

One of the integral parts of any educational system is a school management. It plays a very significant role on how the school will run and develop a good culture, not just to its students but also to all its stake holders internal and external. That is why we can say that, behind the success of every school is its management which ought to provide numerous strategic measures which will lead them in achieving its mission and vision, its objectives and purpose towards a common goal which is to provide an efficient and better education experience to students.

School management is a process of leading the school towards development through not only the optimum use of the human resources, physical sources, principles, and concepts that help in achieving all the objectives of the school but also the proper coordination and adjustment among all of them. Schools are being managed differently. There are schools which were manage and funded by an Education Authority or Agency, there are schools funded and manage by religious group, or schools that are manage and funded by a certain family. They have different ways and strategy on how they manage the schools, but the bottom line is, all of them are exerting efforts in finding various ways to provide the most essential and quality education to their learners.

Likewise, School authorities keep on finding different ways on how to give an excellent service and engage their selves in various activities to effectively manage a school function and provide the best experience to students. In like manner, the need for a highly competent school heads, well trained teaching personnel, efficient non-teaching staff, and other individuals that has an important role in a school is very much essential. In this case, the school manger should formulate policies that best suit to the needs of the school as well as to the concern of parents and people in the community and most especially to the interest of the students. He should also possess relevant management skills to enable him to perform the role of a school manager effectively.

Moreover, there are principles of school management which should be reflected in every school or institution they are: The policies of the school have been developed according to educational principles, government policies and the goals of elementary school education, Reinforce administrative organization, maintain job responsibilities and boost work efficiency, Follow a democratic approach, make personnel, funds, opinions, rewards and punishment public in an attempt to lead the school toward united and harmonious direction, Strengthen personnel management, increase employees’ motivation. Look, listen and understand more. Promote a focus on mobile management, emphasize delicate campus planning, improve working environment, and inspire employees’ professional spirit.

Dealing with the current situation, many institutions, state universities and colleges are now utilizing school management software to ensure quality education and assure parents that they are still updated in the real – time progress and security of their children. Thus, these soft wares may use in different ways. Teaching and learning can be more interesting and effective in the most innovative way. In addition to that, there will be another way of communication, fast and easy way of monitoring attendance, recording of quizzes and activities, and avoiding manual paper works may take place. Access portal to view grades/remarks payment matters and listings of disciplines or course are now possible using the different soft wares that are very relevant nowadays.
