PROMOTING ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE IN SCIENCE AND MATHEMATICS

The 20th National Science Quest (NSQ), organized by the Association of Science Educators in the Philippines (ASEP), will be conducted this February, according to the Department of Education.
The competition aims to promote academic excellence in Science and Mathematics and create camaraderie and sportsmanship among students, pupils, and coaches.
To be held in Baguio City, there will be different competitions in different levels.
The Division Level was held August to November 2023 last year, while the Regional Level started in December and will end this January 2024. The National Level will be on February 23-25, 2024.
The categories are Science, Math, Techno, Environment Quiz and Science & Math History Quiz; Science Fair, Robotics Technology, Sumobot and Spotlight Competition and Video Editing Competition; SIM, SIP, Improvisation Action Research, Module Writing, Science and Math Trail; On-the-spot Painting, Collage Making, Poster Making, Sci-art Coloring, and Slogan Making Contest; Robotics, Sci-Cheer, Jingle Making, Tugsayawit/Sayawit, Sci Speech Choir; Sci-Modern Tech, Sci-Folk, Creative Modeling, SciWriting (Filipino and English), Impromptu Speaking; Search for Ginoo at Binibining Kalikasan, Little Prince and Princess; Rubik’ s Cube, Damaths, Sci-Doku, Sudoku Challenge, Math and Science Trail,
Scie-Dama, Sci-Chess, Sci-Photojournalisim, Tower of Hanoi; and Sci-Spelling Bee Contest, Math, and Sci-History Quiz.
Winners, coaches, advisers, Regional and Division Supervisors, Schools Division Superintendent, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent, Chiefs, Assistant Chiefs, School Heads, District Supervisors, Principals, and other Science enthusiasts are advised to attend this activity, the DepEd said.
All Regional Science Supervisors and ASEP Officers should be at the venue of February 22, 2024, for the finalization of Terms of Reference (TOR).
If the division office conducts division/on-line competition, all winners (1st to 5th place winners) are qualified for the NSQ in all events/categories.
All winners in the 18th and 19th National On-line Science Quest Competition are qualified to join in the face-to-face competition in the 20th NSQ. Also, all 2nd to 5th place winners of the Intel Philippines Science Fair is qualified to the 20th NSQ.
