HEALTH PRACTICES IN USING AIR-CONDITIONER
MARLON A. CANLAS
It's a struggle to keep everything clean at home, which would ensure that everyone at home is safe and healthy.
They say installing an air conditioner at home has a lot of benefits -- one of which is keeping the air healthy.
Having an AC unit at home reduces humidity, which avoids damp. High humidity is linked to dust mites, mould, heatstroke and dehydration.
It is also reduces asthma attacks, as the AC filters dirty air that may contain dust mites, pollutants or allergens, as well as eliminates any dampness that can lead to mould.
That's why you should not neglect to change the air filters because by keeping the same air filter, dirt just cycles through the air conditioner back into your home. On average, you should be changing your air filters from 30 to 60 days.
Cleaning your air filter also prevents your air conditioner from acting up. A dirty air filter can cause your AC to freeze up or blow out warm air.
Having an AC unit means having better air quality and prevent incidents of coughs, colds, headaches and fatigue.
ACs also reduce the risk of dehydration and heat stroke. The cool air in your house will reduce sweating and lower your body temperature. We must stay cool on hot days.
Not many know this, but ACs reduce the number of insects and parasites. The cool atmosphere prevent them from invading your home, as they desire a warm climate. Cooling your body temperature will make you less desirable for mosquitoes, who enjoy warm body temperatures.
Also, ACs help decrease work stress as it creates a good work environment, allowing workers to get their job done. And of course, this is the best way to get some sleep too.
