There are several strategies that effectively promote positive student behavior and academic success. Teachers just have to discover what works for them and their students.

First is to build a rapport with students, which creates a positive learning environment. Students who are comfortable with their teacher and classmates are more likely to be engaged in the learning process.

It would do well to know each learner individually by taking the time to talk to them and ask about their interests and hobbies. This connection should be maintained by regularly interacting with them.

What would also work to establish rapport is by creating a positive classroom environment, where the atmosphere is comfortable and inviting, positive and respectful.

This kind of atmosphere, which is conducive for learning, leads to more engagement as learners are more likelty to feel that they are accepted.

It would also help if teachers are able to provide an engaging and motivating instruction inside the classroom. This can be done by clearly stating your objectives for the lesson and providing any background information your students will need. Make sure that instructions so that students can practice what they’re learning.

In providing this kind of instruction, expect that there will be more student engagement, which would lead to lesson retention. What would further help is small group work and hands-on activities where they could apply what they learned.

Remember to communicate well with your students by listening to them, as this will help in resolving conflicts and promote learning. But it does not end with your students. Teachers should also listen to parents about their children’s progress in your class.
