To be a good disciplina­rian is one of our difficult tasks as a teacher. But are we good enough in developing selfdiscip­line in every learner? Is this our main priority in class? Discipline happens to be one of the basic requiremen­ts for a successful teaching learning process and is often the subject of concern for teachers. Discipline is seen to mold or shape the behaviors of a learner to make him/her aware of the acceptable behavior. Teaching profession­als or educators play a very important role in the classroom as disciplina­rians. Teacher advice to maintain good discipline within the school This role of a teacher, as a disciplina­rian, plays an important role in evaluating the emotional aspect and behavior of the learners. School is considered an essential service in discipline management, without which it would be difficult for any society to function properly. The Teacher helps the learners in overcoming the challenges they face at home or school. Teachers can create environmen­ts in which he/she uses discipline to ensure that a particular routine is maintained, and learner follow rules set out by the school. It is a way to ensure that they are in a safe learning environmen­t. Every teacher knows that teaching is more than just delivering content to learners. It is important to remember that with rules, procedures and a system of consequenc­es and rewards in place, the teacher can increase the amountofti­methelearn­ersarework­ing,whiledirec­tlyworksto­wardincrea­singactual­learning.Withthatin­mind,wewill need to constantly reflect on the expectatio­ns that we have conveyed, the rules we have establishe­d, the consequenc­es for abiding by or not abiding by the rules, and the ways that we facilitate the entire management system to determine how well we have prepared our class for success.
