IMPORTANCE OF LAC SESSIONS

Every learner is unique. Thus, teachers find different ways in addressing the needs of every individual. They need to apply strategies and new techniques in teaching their lessons so as to make teaching and learning process effective. In order to achieve the goal of catering quality education to the learners, teachers continuously organized and managed LAC sessions that will greatly help them as far as their professional growth is concerned.
In line with the implementation of Republic Act No. 10533, or the Enhanced Basic Education Act of 2013, the Department of Education issues the enclosed policy on “The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K-12 Basic Education Program School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the Improvement of Teaching and Learning.” This policy needs to be implemented in the school so as to help teachers improve their teaching performance. On the other hand, LAC sessions enable the teachers to make critical reflection as to how efficient they are in teaching.
Topics in the LAC sessions are based on the e-sat result which is accomplished as the new school year begins. From that result, a development plan will then be made to give priorities to the needs of the teachers. Every topic in the LAC is based on the needs of teachers that would greatly help them in delivering teaching the best way they could so as to make teaching-learning process effective. Thus, it also helps them improve their personal development. Through sharing of personal teaching experiences, strategies, insights and impressions on every topic presented, teachers gain knowledge and new learnings that they can use to reach high level of performance.
The success of each LAC session lies not only to the leader and its members but also to their school head who gives full support to it. As we all know, a leader leads.
