THE POWER OF THE DIGITAL WORKPLACE IN TEACHING
SHIRLEY S. BALUYUT
Education is evolving day by day, driven by technology as well as the needs of our digitally-minded generation. Our department is embracing the digital workplace, expanding how teachers educate and how learners acquire knowledge from a typical classroom set up to a more advanced learning environment. This transition to a more advanced learning environment transcends the quality of learning and makes it accessible, attainable, and engaging for learners.
As a matter of fact, it is also beneficial for teachers to be able to share resources and different practices that they can gain from online conferences and webinars. They are becoming free from repetitive tasks because of easily accessible copies that can be shared digitally, utilizing digital tools for grading, checking attendance, and class scheduling , which can give more time for a meaningful connection with the learners. In addition, it provides learners with more personalized learning experiences as it meets their needs and interests when it comes to education.
Embracing the transformation in teaching to a digital workplace can be intimidating for some, as there is a need to adapt to new technologies in the presence of those who lack digital skills. However, with the right guidance and assistance, teachers can have the necessary skills to successfully integrate technology into the way they teach and educate. It's not about replacing typical classrooms but rather enhancing them. This will guarantee that no learner is left behind in the digital world and provide them with the tools to develop innovative and impressive learning environments so they can easily adapt to the future demands of their chosen field.
