IMPORTANCE OF SCHOOL-BASED MANAGEMENT PRACTICES

Every school is responsible to provide basic quality education to all Filipino learners. It anchors in the DepEd vision, mission, and core values to improve teaching-learning outcomes through effective school operations. Proper management of school lies in the hands of a school head who is wiing to build an effective school management decision particularly in the learning achievement and use of various resources. According to DepEd Order No. 055, s. 2008, school-based management decentralizes the decision-making from the Central offices down to school level to better respond for the specific needs in education. It improves the school policy implementation, techniques, and operation in the educational system down to the school level. SBM in today's education scheme has significant impact in the school operation. It provides the school community like the principals, teachers, learners, and parents work collaboratively in the programs and projects to be implemented. This practice focuses on the four principles such as Leadership and Governance, Curriculum and Instructions, Accountability and Continuous Improvemenit, and Management and Resources. Nowadays most institutions really prepare for SBM to empower school heads to lead their teachers and students through various projects and programs wthich lead to higher learning outcomes. It also includes funding resources of school and strengthening the partnership between the community stakeholders. On the other hand, it builds a clear and positive impact and school effectiveness in terms of operation and improvement of the school quality. Indeed, SBM should be implemented gradually in all schools to achieve learning success. This will be given priority today because school heads and teachers along with the parents and learners will increase the level of participation in attaining the targets of DepEd. They need to engage themselves with the different capacity training and involve them in the sharing of best practices and benchmarking to improve more on the implementation of SBM. Through this activity, it gives the school stakeholders to be more organized and well equipped with the strategies and techniques in the operation of school management. If there is collaboration, there will be remarkable results that learners will benefit from this. Furthermore, it stipulates proper decision-making to have an ultimate practice towards good leadership, management performance and effective delivery of basic education Sevices. SBM also inculcates the value of motivation to various tasks, collaboration, and delegation to boost the wortn among people. One must adopt SBM, Stakeholders Engagement Build Strong Responsibility, and Manage, oaboration through internal and external stakeholders of school. Moreover, when the education system is well-established with the different programs, excellence in education is achieved.
