The Department of Education (DepEd) recognized partner organizations for their support and intervention in the country’s basic education. According to Vice President and Education Secretary Sara Duterte, partners play a crucial role in meeting education targets for learners and teachers. She said that as we journey towards achieving the MATATAG agenda, the numbers of our partners are increasing significantly. Even after the pandemic, these partners stand by DepEd's side to prioritize learning recovery. In particular, Duterte recognized partners' efforts during the Brigada Eskwela and National Teachers’ Month Celebration. She expressed gratitude for allowing teachers to enjoy the perks that will give them time to relax and enjoy their day outside their school responsibilities. Besides free perks, discounts on select services, and the provision of flexible financial support, the Education Chief also mentioned avenues helpful for elevating teachers’ competence. She also extended her appreciation to partners in equipping teachers with various skills that they need to deliver appropriate and effective teaching strategies through training, webinars, and scholarships. In terms of research, she vowed to continue collaboration with partnering bodies offering their resources and expertise. She said the department is always committed to integrating the results of l studies along with the concerns of stakeholders. In the end, the education chief stressed the significance of their contribution to helping DepEd realize its priority programs. She said that together, these significant milestones boost the continuing drive to make the curriculum relevant, accelerate the delivery of education facilities and services, and take good care of learners while giving support to our teachers. To date, the DepEd is rolling out its major targets including the pilot implementation of MATATAG curriculum in 35 schools nationwide, national rollout of learning camp, catch-up Fridays, classroom repairs and constructions, enhancement of work immersions, and provision of internet connectivity, among others.
