EDUCATION KEY TO NATION BUILDING

JUDY S. DELA CRUZ

-

I remember a famous quote from our national hero, Dr. Jose Rizal. The youth are the hope of our nation. This quote holds true because the youth are the next generation to take over on the task or job that will be left to them by politician, doctors, teachers, engineers, businessmen, etc. when they get old.

How would you imagine a country being run by people who lack education because they ignore it during their younger years or perhaps, they use poverty as an excuse not to study? It’s horrible. Our nation will be in chaos then and I can’t take that scenario to happen.

This is why it is important for the youth of today to finish their studies because in their hands lies the success or worse the downfall of our nation if they remain uneducated.

It is then a must for parents to send their children to school. Yes, it’s physically and financially difficult to have more than one child schooling at the same time. It only takes a little sacrifice. After all, we have public schools and scholarship programs intended to poor but deserving students. So, poverty is not an excuse not to pursue and finish studies or send children to school by their parents. The youth must be given importance and priority on their education.

For the youth of today, stay focused on your studies even though there are many destructions nowadays and I believe you can do it. You can finish your studies. This country depends on you.

Education is like an investment. You invest money, time and effort. In the end of long waiting and sacrifices there is a brighter future ahead not only for you and your family but also for our nation.
