CITY OF SAN FERNANDO---The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) is planning to tap some 20 barangays in the province of Bulacan for the launching of its Gabay sa Barangay: Enterprise Development Pr ogr am .

Gabay sa Barangay aims to capacitate village officials in developing the potentials of the barangay; assist officials and volunteers on investment and entrepreneurship; providing them with a series of business-related training and workshops; and other services based on the support needed.

It also intends to help barangay officials to become future coaches and mentors to guide businesses operating in their areas.

The DTI said Gabay sa Barangay involves assessment and strategic planning to determine the strength and key areas of the enrolled barangay; provision of training and workshops to barangay officials, volunteers, and micro-entrepreneurs; and consultancy services from the partner agencies and offices.
