THE PROPER DISPOSAL OR RECYCLE OF WASTEWATER AND SOLID WASTES
An Article About A Social Problem (Local), Disposal of Wastewater and Solid Wastes

Seeing the sheer lack of discipline among our fellow citizens in our local areas when it comes to management and disposal of their wastes, may it be solid or on water, and how these drastically put a negative note to our society in different ways poses such a vast threat not only for the community itself but also for us, residents, who are living in it. I myself experience the impacts that improper waste disposal causes to our areas ? as I walk along our neighborhood or ride with friends towards the plaza, I see clusters of wastes piled up in the streets, sewers, and even in unoccupied lots. Until this societal dilemma is addressed, production of waste will continually multiply, leading to health hazards and environmental impacts, such as flooding, air pollution, and worst of all, spread of diseases.
Indeed, we have already encountered various methods in order for waste disposal to improve, where some are short-term effective yet most are not at all. However, we need to embrace that we are already in a state where we need solutions that are not only effective, but also efficient. Considering the current waste system of Lubao, Pampanga, I believe that it will be much more efficient if waste collection is directed as barangay-based instead of a system that is municipality-based. This will make way for waste facilities to employ collection for at least twice a week, allowing households to not keep their wastes in their homes for another straight seven days. More so, in terms of water wastes, it is crucial to consider that it is much more logical and less costly to solve the major source of the problem, which is to improve the sewage plans of our communities, rather than doing the ?preventionroutine? all over again.
Finally, aside from planning and concurrent action, one more thing that could probably be a game-changer for communities is waste-to-energy conversion, reducing the dependence of communities on non-renewable resources and further minimizing the volume of waste that needs to be disposed of, mitigating environmental concerns.
