INSPIRING CHANGE IN EDUCATION THROUGH THE MEDIUM OF ART AND CREATIVITY

- EMMA DIAMSE FUERTEZ

Twenty-seven years ago, I’ve first met this talented, creative and inspirational educator that embodies optimism in every work of art she made. With the help of different medium and colors she was able to express her idea and imagination into reality.

In the heart of creativity, she finds her muse in the splendor of nature. Her journey depicted through the strokes of her brushes and the intricacy of her miniature dioramas, intertwines seamlessly with the profound essence of the natural world. Her artistic odyssey, shedding light on the fusion of art, nature, pursuit of environmental change and be an inspirational educator to her learners.

Her artistic journey began since childhood, sketching portraits of people in the sand, sculpting nature inspired on the trunk of the trees, painting the dark grey stones and turning them into a colorful and cheerful nature helper, re-designing the leaves of the trees into something whimsical by cutting them using scissors, molding the dirty mud clays into pottery and giving the flower petals a twist of magical artistic touch – a fusion of sketch and gluing the petals in the sketchbook.

In the midst of her career as an educator and artist she was featured in the Kasosyo Magazine and received an award from the prestigious Award Giving body exclusive only in the Philippines. On the 19th of August year 2023, her talent and work of arts was recognized by the President of Gintong Parangal and awarded the “Dedicated Educator and Inspiring Artist of the Year”. After the event after uploading the photos, indeed her fate and blessings from God is overflowing. Were in she was discovered by the CEO and Director of Coloma International Talents Management, Events and Film Productions Inc., Director Rey Coloma and once again her efforts into the journey of creativity were recognized. She was chosen as the recipient for the award as being the “Exceptional Educator for Artistic Movement and Humanitarian Leader Excellence Awards” by The Golden Leaf Emeritus Awards giving body and having won the award of “Fast Rising Kapaampangan Artisan and Humanitarian of the Year” by the Pearl of the Orient Seas giving body this 26th day of April year 2024.

Diving into the vibrant hues of her artworks. And discovering how art serves as a catalyst for change, weaving narratives that inspire young minds through action and advocacy. She believes that the medium of Art can be a power to drive change in the society and education. In her lens, it possesses a transformative power capable of influencing hearts and minds. Her creations serve as a testament to the emotional depth art can attain, creating an intimate connection between the audience and the artist. Through her art, she weaves narratives, educating her viewers and learners about the intricate balance of nature and humanity. Her advocacy extends beyond her studio into the classroom, and she was actively teaching the Contemporary Arts to the senior high school students. Let her artistic journey serves as a beacon of inspiration, urging us all to embrace the beauty in everything especially the nature, taking proactive steps to protect our planet. In the harmony of art and nature, we find strength to sculpt a better, greener tomorrow.

The artistic and talented educator was very close to my heart, she is my second born daughter Yllane Diamse Fuertez, and until now she continues to inspire every person she met. Indeed, I’m so proud and grateful to the blessings of God for giving me the gift of becoming a mother to her.
