Learning environment plays a vital role in the teaching and learning process most especially the classrooms. Everything from the color of the walls to the arrangement of the desks and chairs send impressions to students. These are extremely important and can affect the way a student learns.

It is undeniable that we are still in the process of making our school physical facilities more safe and conducive, and we were not yet ready when it comes to learners safety and welfare, and provision of learning resources to maximize learning outcomes among our students. Aside from these, we experienced difficulties in generating resources from our dedicated and generous partners because we understand that they might feel fatigue in meeting the school needs. Proper electrical wirings and inaccessible classrooms were the main issues and concern raised by the class advisers and teachers and promised to be prioritized upon generation and utilization of BE funds.

Despite adversities, Sta. Maria National High School, as an institution, constantly fulfilling its mission of promoting quality education with a health-friendly, safe learning environment, and instilling moral values to its students.

As we want to make sure that our learners get the best education and stay in an environment that is conducive to learning, we have prepared for the Brigada Eskwela with this year’s theme: “Brigada Eskwela: Bayanihan para sa Matatag na Paaralan", from August 14-19, 2023 where all education stakeholders contributed their time, effort and resources in ensuring that the school facilities are ready and safe in time for the school opening.

Today, after having exerted various efforts and collaborations made by all our education stakeholders and volunteers, and by having the traditional way of implementing Brigada Eskwela such as repairing, repainting and other maintenance and safety activities, the school is now ready for school opening. Behind this success, our BE working committee planned, conducted and implemented activities to promote a safe and clean school environment.

The school conducted its brigada eskwela kick-off ceremony on the 14th day of August 2023. The ceremony aims to encourage stakeholders to join and participate in the school BE programs and projects especially in securing a safe and clean learning environment.

Maintaining a clean and safe school facilities were possible with the support and generosity of stakeholders. The remaining days of Brigada Eskwela period and August were spent through school disinfection with help of the volunteers, LGUs, Municipal BFP, determined utility personnel and school guards under Brigada Opisina. Other committee members and other teachers are working with their best to support our school in supplying the needs to maintain cleanliness and orderliness as ordered by the DepEd Secretary VP Sarah Duterte.

Generally, the school is now ready for the school opening. Evidences for Week-long activities are attached herewith. We really have to work hard for the things we want for our school. We believe and continue shouting our battle cry “Para sa Bata, Para sa Bayan” and DepEd MATATAG advocacy.
