NATIONAL QUALIFYING EXAMINATION FOR SCHOOL HEADS

The National Qualifying Examination for School Heads (NQESH) for the fiscal year 2023 will be on May 26, 2024, according to the Department of Education.
DepEd Memorandum No. 13, S. of 2024, states that passing the NQESH is one of the prerequisites for aspiring applicants for Principal and Assistant Principal positions in public elementary and secondary schools.
The memo also stated that the 2023 NQESH — through the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizational Development (BHROD) — will be conducted through a secured online platform at a designated examination site on May 26, 2024.
It will be held simultaneously nationwide.
There are qualifications which must be met by aspiring NQESH takers, as well as experience requirements as of February 29, 2023, the memo said. These are 1 year as head teacher, 2 years as master teacher, and 2 years as teacher-in-charge.
Meanwhile, their teaching experience for five years must be as Teacher III or other teacher positions with the same salary grade; Incumbent public school teacher who has managerial and supervisory experience in a DepEd-recognized private institution or Commission on Higher Education-recognized higher education institution; Aggregate experience as head teacher, TIC, master teacher, and Teacher III.
Schedule for application, submission of requirements and mock tests arenMarch 6-15, 2024 – Online application; March 6-22, 2024 – Evaluation and validation of documents; March 27, 2024 – Release of the final list of examinees and examination sites through a regional memorandum; May 5, 2024 – First mock examination; May 19, 2024 Second (final) mock examination.
Official results will be published through another DepEd memorandum.
