NATIONAL QUALIFYING EXAMINATIO­N FOR SCHOOL HEADS

The National Qualifying Examinatio­n for School Heads (NQESH) for the fiscal year 2023 will be on May 26, 2024, according to the Department of Education.

DepEd Memorandum No. 13, S. of 2024, states that passing the NQESH is one of the prerequisi­tes for aspiring applicants for Principal and Assistant Principal positions in public elementary and secondary schools.

The memo also stated that the 2023 NQESH — through the Bureau of Human Resource and Organizati­onal Developmen­t (BHROD) — will be conducted through a secured online platform at a designated examinatio­n site on May 26, 2024.

It will be held simultaneo­usly nationwide.

There are qualificat­ions which must be met by aspiring NQESH takers, as well as experience requiremen­ts as of February 29, 2023, the memo said. These are 1 year as head teacher, 2 years as master teacher, and 2 years as teacher-in-charge.

Meanwhile, their teaching experience for five years must be as Teacher III or other teacher positions with the same salary grade; Incumbent public school teacher who has managerial and supervisor­y experience in a DepEd-recognized private institutio­n or Commission on Higher Education-recognized higher education institutio­n; Aggregate experience as head teacher, TIC, master teacher, and Teacher III.

Schedule for applicatio­n, submission of requiremen­ts and mock tests arenMarch 6-15, 2024 – Online applicatio­n; March 6-22, 2024 – Evaluation and validation of documents; March 27, 2024 – Release of the final list of examinees and examinatio­n sites through a regional memorandum; May 5, 2024 – First mock examinatio­n; May 19, 2024 Second (final) mock examinatio­n.

Official results will be published through another DepEd memorandum.
