CAREER ADVANCEMENT FOR TEACHERS
JOSE JOEL S. PALLASIGUI
Teaching advocacy encompasses the resilience of educators in adopting modern educational practices to provide quality education to young learners, even in non-traditional settings. Despite the absence of face-to-face interactions, teachers are required to fulfill their vital role in educating students. Embracing technology to innovate within the new normal is also a key aspect for educators. Nowadays, innovation not only enhances teachers' skills development but also contributes to the overall success of the school's learning management system.
Career progression and professional development offer tangible benefits such as increased salaries, greater respect, and more challenging tasks. It is not surprising that many workers are driven to continuously enhance their roles and responsibilities to advance in their careers. In the field of education, individuals strive for career opportunities by engaging in various professional development strategies.
At our institution, our school leaders inspire us to engage in work-related activities that contribute to both teaching and professional growth. It is the teachers' advocacy to serve as role models to their colleagues in fulfilling the school's mission and vision. By initiating strategies for personal and professional growth, educators can enhance their skills, take on more responsibilities, and advance their careers.
Aiming for promotion motivates teachers to maintain effectiveness and efficiency in teaching despite the challenges of the teaching and learning process. Conducting research studies to improve the teaching and learning process is also a requirement for career advancement. Therefore, educators are encouraged to conduct studies that can enhance pedagogical approaches and curriculum development, not only within their own schools but also across the entire Department of Education.
