According to research, healthy students are better learners. Schools encourage students to keep their body and mind healthy every day.

One of the components of MAPEH focuses on health education which gives the learners knowledge, skills as well as values for having a healthy body and mind. It helps them to maintain a healthy weight, have more energy, avoid diseases, and feel good about themselves.

The Department of Education includes the MAPEH subject to strengthen the four components especially in the health area. This component must be given proper attention to schoolchildren for them to understand that health is important to the body and mind of an individual.

Teachers should emphasize the significant topics in health such as the value of eating nutritious food, doing regular exercise, taking medicines, and ways to keep the body strong and healthy. They should incorporate physical activities in the classroom to keep their students focused and well-behaved. It is important that health provides knowledge to them to learn and apply this in real-day situations.

Before, children were exposed to physical activities or the traditional games that truly made them perspire after playing it. But now, most children today play various gadgets that may cause them not to move. They are focused only on playing and using gadgets without getting perspire. This activity is called sedentary lifestyle. It is also called an inactive lifestyle because this only relies on a lot of sitting and lying down with no exercise.

Health education is the concept of health more than the absence of disease. Health must be the priority today to encourage the total development of physical, mental, and spiritual fitness which reduces the major risk of illnesses.

. Truly, students with healthy lifestyle are active, focused and lead to class, and achieve more in school. They need to value health for them to be productive and functional individuals in society.
