THE POWER OF SENIOR HIGH SCHOOL STUDENT PARTICIPATION IN TODAY’S LEARNING ENVIRONMENT IN A TECHNICAL-VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SCHOOL
Senior high school student participation in extracurricular activities is invaluable for their development and future success. By engaging in leadership opportunities, students enhance their skills, build social connections, promote civic engagement, and undergo personal growth. These experiences prepare them to become empowered individuals ready to make a positive impact on their communities and beyond. Encouraging and supporting student participation is essential for fostering well-rounded individuals who are prepared for the challenges of adulthood. Senior high school students' active participation in class is crucial for their academic success and overall development. Engaging in classroom discussions, asking questions, and participating in group activities fosters critical thinking, communication skills, and collaboration. It also enhances their understanding of the subject matter and encourages a deeper level of learning. Encouraging and facilitating student participation in class creates an inclusive learning environment where every student feels valued and empowered to contribute their ideas and perspectives. With the K12 Curriculum, at a TVL School that offers vocational courses, learners were able to fully immerse themselves in the industry setup and allow them to experience the actual workplace setting through industry immersion that takes 80 hours or 10 days. Though it is short in time, the experience aims to give the learner an insight into what to expect in the industry once they set off from school.
