APPLICATION OF GOOD HUMAN RELATIONS

HERMIDA R. MARTIN

-

Every one of us needs good human relations to everybody as much as possible despite the fact that we cannot please everyone. Good human relations is so important especially in one organization. For an employee to become successful in his chosen career, one must face all the necessary consequences for him to grow as an individual. We cannot achieve our goals if we cannot experience challenges in our field of work. However, employees can’t possibly achieve their goals without the help, guidance and support of their team leader. That’s why employees must have and practice good human relations.

Accept people the way they are is one of the principles of having good human relations. No one is perfect that’s why we need to avoid judging people that causes person’s lack of self- confidence. As educators, we teach our learners to become appreciative and to practice polite and courteous expressions all the time. Thus, it is necessary for the leader and subordinate to do it always. A leader must be agreeable and positive even if he is experiencing a bad day. In addition, a leader who is argumentative, and is always complaining and disagreeing will have a hard time building a lasting relationship particularly to those people who look up to them. Be admirable and be attentive to others. As much as possible, never criticize! This will cause a loss of trust in you. Showing concern and being considerate to everyone is a key to connect with the employees’ emotions.

As the saying goes, “Practice makes perfect”, we are not born with many skills but we can have these by practicing them well. To master our skills, we need to train and to practice more. To build harmonious relationship between the employer and employee, we should have an open communication and understanding.
