THE UNSUNG HEROES

SHERLEY S. DE LEON

-

Teachers have long been viewed as unsung heroes, as we all know. They do not have a lot of heavy lifting that would be laborious and complicated. Despite not being superhumans or magicians, they are nevertheless able to accomplish things due to their commitment and dedication.

Teachers treat their students with the same love and care as members of their own families. Teachers and their students have a relationship that goes beyond simple transaction or deal-making, unlike other jobs where the relationship ends when the worker gets what they need. Since each student they teach becomes a part of their lives or hearts, the relationship may even last a lifetime.

Teachers would be involved in teaching, unlike other professions where only mental or physical aspects are worked in. They work with complexity every day. However, they give their lives to their profession because it is more than just work, regardless of how exhausting it may be.

Teachers can work in a variety of capacities. They are the people who, in addition to being teachers, would also act as doctors, parents, janitors, counselors, friends, and playmates for their students. They perform these duties out of a passion for their line of work.

The world can be changed by teachers. Even though they lack the authority of this nation's president, they can still effect change by helping students acquire the moral character and skill sets that our society sorely lacks. They have an impact on change because of their influence over the students they are teaching.

Being a teacher requires you to have the selflessness to carry out your duties and approach your work as a mission. If you possess these qualities, then you can become a teacher.
