UC di moapil sa Miloympics

HUMAN sa pipila ka adlaw nga pagpaabot, ang 17- time overall champion University of Cebu (UC), sa unang higayon, dili mosalmot sa Milo Little Olympics nga ipahigayon karong Septiyembre 8 ngadto sa 11 dinhi sa Sugbo.

Kini mao gikompirmar ni UC athletic director Bernard Ricablanca sa iyang pagpakighinabi sa Sun.Star Cebu.

“We’re not joining anymore. We are just following orders. As a good soldier, we obey. Hope parents and coaches would understand,” padayag ni Ricablanca.

Hinuon giklaro ni Ricablanca nga dili man tuod sila makasalmot sa maong event apan padayon silang moapil sa ubang mga sporting meets sa Department of Education.

Kini sama sa City Olympics, Philippine National Games, Batang Pinoy, Regionals ug Palarong Pambansa.

Subli niyang gipadayag nga nag-implementar ang UC og cost-cutting measures tungod kay naapektohan kini sa K to 12 Program nga gisugdan na karong tuiga.

“Instead of cutting the number of athletes and the equipment, the school has chosen to cut only our participation in commercial events. The athletes and the equipment are still the same,” saysay niya.

Ang UC adunay 17 ka overall titles sa Milo Little Olympics Regional Finals sa wala pa sila matangtangi sa kampyonato sa University of San Carlos-Basic Education niadtong2013.

Ang 21st edition sa Milo Little Olympics adunay 15 ka mga sporting events.

Kini mao ang athletics, badminton, basketball, football, gymnastics, lawn tennis, swimming, table tennis, taekwondo, chess, crabble, sepak takraw ug volleyball.
