Engineering profs gibansay sa Smart
Si Kerubin Pangilinan nagtudlo sa electronics and communications engineering (ECE) students sa Polytechnic University of the Philippines sulod na sa 11 ka tuig. Samtang suheto siya sa subjects sama sa circuits ug computer fundamentals, ang kahibalo ni Pangilinan sa telecommunications pulos theoretical, hangtod ning ulahi. Uban sa 22 engineering professors gikan sa ubang tunghaan, si Pangilinan nigahin sa 10 ka mga adlaw sa nagkalainlaing cell sites sa Smart Communications sa pagkuha sa hands-on training sa operasyon ug maintenance sa telecommunications equipment. Ang faculty immersion activity kabahin sa 14-anyos nga Smart Wireless Engineering Education Program (SWEEP). Ubos sa SWEEP, ang Smart nakig-uban sa universities ug colleges sa pagpalambo sa engineering ug information technology education sa nasod. Sa pagkakaron, dul-an sa 500 professors gikan sa Luzon, Visayas, ug Mindanao ang nakadawat sa on-the-job training sa Smart engineers.

“I was able to configure and test instruments. The things that I learned only during review sessions for the board exams – such as how cell sites function – I was able to actually see. I also learned about the latest technology being used by Smart.”

“It will be easier to teach because my explanations will be more in-depth. I will be able to give clearer examples because I had actual experience at the site,” matod niya. Ang iyang kaubang si Rianna Camille Ventura niingon,
“It’s really different when you see the application of the concepts you’ve learned only from lectures. You can master theories and concepts, but it’s different when you have hands-on experience with technology.”
