SOTTO PUWEDE SA NBA: BAYNO

Sa wala'y pagduhaduha, aduna na unya'y lumad nga basketbolistang Pinoy ang makaduwa sa National Basketball Association (NBA) sa umaabot.

Mao kini ang panahom sa assistant coach sa Indiana Pacers nga si Bill Bayno, kinsa nagtumbok sa batan-ong higante nga si Kai Sotto.

Si Bayno, kinsa kanhi coach sa Talk N' Text KaTropa sa Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), miingon nga basi sa iyang nakuhang mga impormasyon, dakong abli ang pultahan alang sa pagsulod ni Sotto sa NBA sa ugma damlag.

Ang 7'2" nga teenage sensation, kinsa mag-18 anyos pa karong Mayo 11, ka samtang naa sa Amerika.

Ang NBA G-League Select Program dayag sa ilang intensyon nga kuhaon si Sotto sama sa FilAm phenom nga si Jalen Green.

“The scouting report I get from Kai is he is still young, he needs to get tougher, and he needs to be a little bit more aggressive which is normal for any kid that age,” pasabot ni Bayno nga napatik sa Spin. ph.

“But he has the skillset already, he has NBA skillset in that he can shoot and pass for a 7-foot kid. Hopefully, he is training on the other stuff and how physical the NBA game is.”

“Kai's maybe your first Filipino (to play in the NBA). I can remember saying that back in 2001 that eventually, there is going to be an NBA player from the Philippines. It's just a matter of time,” matod ni Bayno. Asoy ni Bayno nga kutob sa iyang mahimo, gusto siyang makatabang kang Sotto.

“I don't know Kai personally but I do have some connections. I love to help him out if he needed any advice. I love to talk to him but I'm not allowed to work with him because he is a prospect and I'm an NBA coach. Let's hope he is the first one,” pasabot ni Bayno.
