CEBU GUSTO MO-HOST SA 2024 PALARO

Opisyal nga gibutyag sa Cebu City Sports Commission (CCSC) ang intensyon sa Dakbayan sa Sugbo nga mo-host sa 2024 Palarong Pambansa.

Mismong si CCSC chairman John Pages ang nianunsyo niini sa usa ka press conference kagahapon, Pebrero 1, 2023 nga gitambungan nila ni Mayor Mike Rama, Konsehal Dondon Hontiveros, Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) Commissioner Edward Hayco, CCSC Commissioner Rolly Diorico, ug CCSC Management Committee Member Lester Razo.

Hugot nga gipaluyohan ni Rama ang gipahibawo ni Pages.

“I’m telling Dondon (Hontiveros), ‘let me know what I should do. If I have to call the mayor whoever or whatever, I’ll do it’, because I was and until now, I am a sports man,” pulong ni Rama.

Nipadayag sab siya sa iyang dakong pagsalig kabahin sa katakos sa CCSC aron mahimong malampuson ang maong kalihukan ug sa pagtabang sa pribadong mga sektor.

“We have gone far. Organizing, we are the best. People around, we have all. The private sector, I’m telling you, they will all be around to help us,” dugang ni Rama.

Matod ni Rama nga gamiton ang lainlaing mga lugar sa siyudad, lakip na ang South Road Properties alang sa kalihukan.

Si Hontiveros, kinsa vice chairman sa Committee on Youth and Sports Development sa Konseho sa Dakbayan, nipadayag sa iyang kahinam alang sa kalihukan.

“I’m so excited for next year. We have the full year to do all the work and hopefully nindot gyud ni siya nga preparation,” sulti ni Hontiveros.

“Chairman John (Pages), CCSC commissioners, and of course with the leadership of the mayor, sa iyang pag-empower namo, we’ll make it happen and we’ll make our fellow Cebuanos proud.”

Nagkanayon si Pages nga ipaayo niya ang Cebu City Sports Center isip tipik sa pagpangandam.

“As we know, it was in 1994 when we last hosted the biggest sporting event in the country. Next year it will be our 30th anniversary, and together with that is the rehabilitation of the Cebu City Sports Center,” asoy ni Pages.

“We are going to rehabilitate our Cebu City Sports Center, the track oval, swimming pool and so many other facilities, to be ready for the July 2024 hosting. So, these are the two major announcements.”

Sa iyang bahin, nagkanayon si Hayco nga moayuda ang PSC sa pagpaayo sa sports center.

“We will be having our wish list that we hope the national leaders can check where they can come in and which part they want to get involved,” batbat ni Hayco.

Nidugang si Hayco nga ang PSC adunay plano sa pagtukod og usa ka regional training center sulod sa sports center.
