a distinct Louis XV, Louis XVI and Empire style. Amongst the antiques are an Erard harp, a very rare double-chorded harp and harpsichords from the Empire period.

Displaying an unmistakably American Georgian architecture, the dwelling is suffused with elegant pillars, porticos, spacious common areas, high ceilings and floor-to-ceiling openings. This style of architecture that was popular in the late 18th century in Western countries, was named after the four British kings who ruled throughout this period, and easily influenced the United States as Colonial Revival architecture. As the end of the era was marked with prosperity, architects were quick to translate this into their designs, placing a premium in symmetry and proportion.

A collection of colonial style pieces from Becara, a Spanish furniture brand since 1964, lines the front porch. They invite rest and relaxation at the end of the day. The main vestibule welcomes guests with a palatial motif, displaying an overhead chandelier and classical busts in wall niches, whilst coinciding with glossy white marble floors with black accents. Framed by two columns, another hallway in proximity of the entrance serves as an extended gallery brimming with antiques such as the family’s tapestry, a representation of the dream of Esther from the Book of David, a harp, and an Empire harpsichord from the antiquarian José Antonio Cámara. To the right, a drawing room exuding a French fashion is outfitted with the same delicate pearl grey tone throughout the house. Antiques from Matesanz’s Stucco decorate every nook of the home whilst the strategic seating arrangement creates distinct zones that emphasise the balance within the room.
