SAINT-LOUIS CLASSIC CRYSTAL MASTERPIECES:

-

THE BUBBLES DECANTER Created in 1992 out of the Comité Colbert’s awardwinning project for Saint-louis, Bubbles was designed by the English artist Teleri Ann Jones. Sensual and sparkling, existing in a huge range of shapes and uses, from table to bar, the colour-rich Bubbles service blends perfectly with Saint-louis’ contemporary lines, while destined to become a future classic. A modern original, the round decanter with its dreamy decorative appeal is an upturned version of the classic design of a glass set on a pile of bubbles.

THE THISTLE TEA CUP Traditional emblem of the city of Nancy together with the motto Quis’yfrottes’ypique (“Touch me who dares” being the Scottish equivalent), the thistle was the inspiration behind the design in 1908 of the service of the same name: Chardon (“thistle”), created for the Exposition de Nancy at the height of the Art Nouveau movement. Five years later, Entente Cordiale oblige, Chardon was anglicised. With its new design by Louis Reyen, Thistle sparkled with a piquant beauty on all the greatest tables. An original, the gilded cup is an invitation to a nonconformist tea ceremony, or to an alternative, self-indulgent glass of espresso or café latte.

THE COSMOS TUMBLER Designed in 1998 by Olivier Gagnère, Cosmos is a contemporary service whose popularity has established Saint-louis as a creative standard setter in crystal-making. Fun and deliberately urban, Cosmos also exists in a complete, everyday-use range of coloured and colourless crystal. An original: the tumbler, which looks as good on the dining table as in the office, kitchen, or bathroom. THE TOMMY COCKTAIL GLASS An ambassador for Saint-louis following its glorious appearance at a legendary royal lunch at Versailles,

Tommy is the multi-coloured world-wide bestseller. The service was redesigned in 1928 by Joseph Bleichner. A classic among Saint-louis classics, from its starshaped foot to its diamond cuts, beading, ribbons and bevelling, Tommy crystallizes the creativity and brio of the glassmakers. The original touch: a red crystal glass at dry martini time – to set off the green of the olive.
