Tatler Philippines

Editor’s Note

- — Anton San Diego Editor-in-Chief

The world truly belongs to the young; their choices, actions, likes, and dislikes influence every aspect of modern living from fashion to movies, music, and food. One may argue that they may not have the maturity, the spending power, or the refinement of those older than they are but, for the moment, they drive what’s now!

For those interested and those who are in industries that rely a lot on the youth, it is important for them to know who the youth are, what they like, and what shapes their decisions. For this issue, we focus and highlight the heir apparent, the next in line, the bright young things, Tatler’s own generation— Generation T!

We chose five individuals who are in different fields to represent this year’s Gen T. They are Cris Villonco-Valderrama (music/ theatre), Ian Paradies (food and beverage), Eric Dee (food and beverage), Eduardo Zobel (visual art), and Vania Romoff (fashion design).

We have an accompanying supplement as well that gives a wider coverage of our Gen T. The list is composed of 50 indi viduals, all young, accomplished, and all the leaders of tomorrow.

Also in this issue, we feature the male model Pietro Boselli who spent almost a month in the Philippines. He came here to endorse the super brand BENCH. I was able to spend some time with him upon the invitation of my good friend Ben Chan, and I can say that this handsome, sexy, intelligent, and down-to-earth man is truly a delight to be with—as well as a sight to behold.

Lastly, something extra special for me as I share with you my trip with my closest and dearest friends (“Same Time, Next Year” p. 182). Last year, we spent our vacation in Florence; this year we went to Venice. We rented a palazzo by the Grand Canal, near the Accademia Bridge. It was another memorable event for all of us, as the articl e will attest. This time we were joined by Rose Anne Belmonte, Patty Chilip, and Ling Ling King. It was a truly memorable trip consisting of lots of pasta, chatter, laughter, and bonds formed and deepened. Thank you guys for the wonderful memories. Till the next one, our adventure continues!
