Sawasdee Ka!
Dusit Thani’s flagship restaurant, continues to set the standard for fine Thai dining
Together with Vietnamese and Singaporean cuisine, Thai cooking has made an indelible mark on the Filipino palate, especially in recent years. While many Thai chefs have dabbled in adding Western nuances to classic dishes, authentic tastes and textures continue to be savoured at Dusit Thani’s Benjarong.
Recently refurbished and moved to the ground floor of the hotel, Benjarong continues to set the benchmark for fine Thai cuisine steeped in tradition. Its name translated as “five colours,” Benjarong provides a tr ue feast for the senses with its warm ambience and hospitable interiors crafted accordingly by designer Manny Samson.
Regulars and newcomers alike will be spoilt for choice through a tantalising menu of dishes featuring traditional Thai herbs and spices. The exquisite mix of sweet and spicy flavours and contrasting textures result in meals that are distinctively Thai. Benjarong’s current selection features such classics as Moo Ping, Phad Thai Gung Sod, See Krong Moo Krob Wan, Gaeng Khieo Wan See Krong Neau Toon, and Tab Tim Krob. But for those seeking new gustatory delights, Thai chef Watcharapon Yongbanthom, warmly known as “Chef Ja” by regulars, offers fresh creations like Peek Gai Yad Sai Gaeng Khieo Wan Tord, Pu Nim Phad Pong Kari, and Gam Pla Phad Piew Wan.
Additional amenities include an expanded 28-seat bar serving classic continental and Thai-inspired cocktails, as well as function rooms for executive meetings in a comfortable setting.
With palms together and head slightly bowed, Benjarong’s hospitable staff welcomes you to a Thai dining experience where you find that the “land of smiles” is also comprised of those who visit – and draw inspiration from it, bringing the best of Thailand to shores such as ours.
